In conjunction with the town of Fairplay's Holiday event on December 5th, Coyote Creek will stay open till at least 7 PM that evening. The town of Fairplay is putting up the big town Christmas tree at the entrance of South Park City Musuem this year. We welcome all the shoppers from the Christmas bazaar at the school that day and hope everyone will come and visit the studio for a little Christmas shopping of their own.
With the Holidays right around the corner, now is a great time to learn a new art or craft to make your own gifts. Coyote Creek Studio Arts at 419 Front St. has new classes and new teachers offering you an opportunity to learn or improve a skill you might not have known that you have. For more information about these classes or workshops, please contact the teacher directly and to reserve your place in the class. If you want to see examples of the instructor's work, most are on display at the Coyote Creek gallery 10am to 5pm daily. If there is a class you would like to see us offer, please contact Pat Pocius at 836-2698 and we can discuss it. And a quick word about Precious Metal Clay (PMC), if you're not familiar with this medium, it is a material that is the consistency of clay, works like clay, but when fired in a torch or kiln, burns out to sterling silver, copper or bronze. So if you find the traditional silversmithing too intimidating ( which you shouldn't!), this might be the class for you. But you might want to hurry to sign up because there is a lot of interest in this class and the instructor will only take six students.
