Artist's Biography

I was born in the Rocky Mountains of Wyoming and grew up hunting, fishing and camping in the surrounding area.  I started oil painting at the young age of twelve.  I was influenced by my great Uncle Laurence Corbett, who was a Western oil painter that had painted with some of the best.

During High School I studied under a master painter Eveann Wiesse, who studied in Europe under some of the old masters.  After graduation I went to college on an art scholarship and studied under Australian artist John Rawlings, artist James Bama and John Banks.  I also studied at the Art Institute in San Miguel, Mexico under the tutelage of James Pinto.  Upon returning to the United States I took a job as a Gallery Director for a national art gallery chain, educating and selling art to the general public across the Country.

During my life I have worked with many mediums including pottery, jewelry, graphic design, interior design, watercolor, acrylics, sculpture and oils.

After studying with many great artists I have developed my own style of painting.  I especially enjoy oil painting and nature and the Rocky Mountains seem to be my favorite theme.

I have lived in Colorado since 1985, have raised my two children and am currently the Mayor of Fairplay, CO.

Then and still
those who seek
because of their needs
and those who can fulfill them
gather in their own kind of rendezvous.
Let us create beauty in all we do.
