Round Robin Auction
Saturday Aug 9th 7:30pm

We are working on a different event for Saturday night....please check back later or contact me your ideas!.

On Saturday evening at the Hand Hotel on Front St., there will be complimentary wine and cheese and Spaghetti Dinner along with the opportunity to do more trading with other beaders that have been tending to business in their booth all day. These events are complimentary to the vendors that participated in the show.  The general public is welcome and the ticket cost at the door is $7.00. The festivities begin with a bead exchange where you will need to bring one item that is wrapped so no one can see what it is.  Numbers are drawn from a hat for the "picking" order and then the stealing begins.  I've heard this called a white elephant or chinese auction but the details will be explained that night.  Once the exhange is finished, we move on to the round robin auction.

The auction begins with one person putting a bead related item up for auction. The crowd has the opportunity to inspect the item and then they can put an item they are willing to trade or “bid” with on the table. After everybody has had the opportunity to place a bid, the person auctioning their item can encourage the group to “up the bid” with additional items. When all “bids” are in, the person with the item to be auctioned has the option to accept one of the bids or decline all offers. Then the next person wishing to auction an item will step up and present the item for inspection and go through the process again.

If you don’t care to participate in the auction, please stop by and check it out. Go out to eat and relax and then stop by…you might just THINK you’re not interested or in the mood. It really is quite fun and interesting to just watch.
