This event is currently being promoted and organized by Brent Long
and Amy Gehlrs. I thank everyone that supported me in the
past, but I am no longer able to do the job that should be done
from this distance and I thank Brent and Amy for taking this over and look
forward to seeing it continue. As their information becomes

Advertising will be done through press releases in as many
surrounding area
newspapers as will run the release. Additional ads will be run in
the Des
Moines Register, Ames, Newton, Marshalltown Tribune,
Bead & Button, and Bead Work magazines. Flyers will be
distributed through as many bead shops as I can possibly find. All feasible
efforts will be made to bring you a crowd of beaders. There
will be a two dollar admission at the door to the public.

Best Western Regency – Marshalltown
It’s time to get geared up for the BEAD BASH in
Marshalltown!!
We will be having it Friday the 26th from 5-9 and
Saturday the 27th from 10-5. Set up time will be Friday from 10-5.
We will be advertising in the same places as
previous years. Press releases and ads will be sent to & be placed
in the DM Register, Ames, Newton, Cedar Rapids, Marshalltown,
Waterloo and other local newspapers. We will also get listed in
the beading magazines and all free listings we can find.
Last year we had the customers sign up on "this
year’s" postcards, and we will do this again. I am planning on
getting postcards printed, so get me a number you will be able to
send out, as soon as possible. (People respond to postcards well,
this is our best advertising.) I also will be sending a poster to
those of you who have a store front. NOTE: If you have places that
you could post them, please make sure to get one (or more) and
post them around your towns.
Last year I drove around and posted signs at
conveniece and grocery stores. I spent a couple of days doing this
and only got north and west of Marshalltown covered. If I can send
anyone some, and have you, at least hit the ones you drive by, I
will GREATLY appreciate it.
We will continue to have a fee at the door, this
will help to give us a count as to guests, and give them reason to
stop at the door and sign up for next year’s postcard.
We will ask that you take charge of your booth and
keep it presentable. Drapes should cover your tables and hang to
the floor to cover all items stored beneath your tables. No early
tear downs. You will also be responsible for securing all cords to
the floor to prevent accidents.
You will be responsible for collecting Iowa sales
tax, which is currently 7%. Temporary Tax Permits will also be
available to those who need them.
I have already had positive responses from some
new vendors, so we should see some new faces and some are
returning after giving our show a year or two off.
